April 2025
Happy Friday ESQE Families,
What a wonderful week it's been! Our celebration of Student Learning was a fantastic Success - thank you to everyone who joined us to recognize the hard work and growth of our students. It was a joy to see their learning proudly on display. We hope you enjoyed the long weekend and are soaking up the beautiful spring weather that continues.
As a gentle reminder, please avoid stopping or parking in the roundabout when picking up or dropping off students. Instead, we ask that you use the gravel lot to help keep things safe and smooth for everyone. Wishing you a restful weekend.

Celebration of Learning
As always, the Celebration of learning is a special time for students to share their learning with their families.

Inclusive Swing - Thank you PAC!!
How do we fully capture with words the gratitude we have for our PAC members and their incredible dedication and hard work in fundraising for our new swing! As you can tell, it's a hit!

Reading Link Challenge - SQE Brings home the GOLD!
A huge congratulations to the "GREEN CRAYONS!" for bringing home the gold from this years District Wide Reading Link Challenge. Students read a series of preselected books, learning everything they can about it - from characters, to plot, to the setting! Their knowledge of the books are then put to the test, trivia style!

Food to Go!
This term, Ms. Hain and Mr. Georgy-Embree's students took on putting together "Food To Go" Bags. In recognition of the rising cost of living - especially groceries, these bags are intended specifically for families who are really feeling the strain.
The students did all the work from researching balanced meals, the cost of the food, grocery shopping within a budget, and organizing the bags.
They will be putting together 15 of these bags, each week for the remainder of the school year!

Earth Day Week!
A huge thank you to Mrs. McQueen and Mme. Regnier for organizing this years Earth Day Assembly - we were not only entertained through songs, but also learned a lot about our local environment and ways we can help! Mme. Regnier also challenged classes to weigh their garbage at the end of each day - a challenge to see which class can produce the LEAST amount of garbage in a week.

Squamish CAN Farm!
Connecting our community together is very important to Squamish Elementary, and we feel so fortunate to house the Squamish CAN Farm. This spring, our students have had the chance to get their hands dirty learning how to grow and harvest vegetables! Interested in entering their raffle - check out this link and the poster below! https://squamishcan.rafflenexus.com/

Celebrating SQE
Ms. Keller's class adventured down to the Makerspace on public transit this month! They all had a chance to learn how to use different tools!

Mme. Regnier brought science to life in her class as her students continue to explore salmon. Together they dissected one!

Mme. Lazar had a month full of the arts - from pottery to learning drama!

SQE PAC - Parent Advisory Council
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
In order to bring the Carnival to Life, we need volunteers. The executive team has organized times to accommodate 1 hour time slots to allow families to volunteer but also have time to enjoy the Carnival with their family.
