Happy Friday ESQE Families,

We cannot believe Halloween is already here and November is just around the corner! Our classes are settling into wonderful routines, and we're learning so much about our amazing students.

Today was a day full of Halloween Fun at ESQE, we love seeing everyone dressed up!

This month we began the "You Scare Hunger" Campaign, Mme. Paquette's class is leading our school in collecting non-perishable food items to support our local food bank. Thank you to everyone who has already been able to donate this week, please help us reach our goal of 500 if you can!

Wishing everyone a safe, fun, and spooky Halloween!

Halloween Safety
Halloween can be such a fun time for families and the community, BUT we want everyone to stay safe! Here are few tips for families as we celebrate with their students!
  1. Be Visible! Wear reflective materials, bring flashlights, and stay in well lit areas. Stay off the roads.
  2. Control that costume! We want to avoid any tripping hazards, so ensure that the costume won't get caught up in your feet.
  3. Stick together! It is fun, and also safe to travel in groups!
  4. Parent Candy Checkers! Before your child gets to dive into their candy lot, be sure to check the items to ensure they are properly wrapped and safe. df
SQE Parking Lot

To help ensure the safety of all students, families, and staff, we ask for your continued cooperation in keeping the designated school bus zones clear for safe entry and exit of our 40 foot long school buses.

Please take a moment to review the diagram below, which highlights the areas in red where stopping or parking is not permitted. These zones must remain accessible at all times so that our buses can safely maneuver to be able to load or unload students without obstruction.

If the main parking lot is full, overflow parking is available in the adjacent gravel lot. We encourage families to make use of this area during busy pick up and drop off times. We also encourage as many families to carpool, walk, or bike to school to minimize traffic.

SQE Meal Program

Please see image below with details on Novembers Lunch Menu, in partnership with the Squamish Climate Action Network. Our School Meal Program ensures that students have access to nourishing lunches. Squamish CAN also provides food for our breakfast program and the food that goes into the community fridge. We rely on family and community contributions to bridge the gap with government funding to ensure every child  has access to nutritious and delicious local food - all needed to be able to learn at school!

If you are currently participating in the meal program, a $120 per month donation or pay what you can is recommended. These donations are what allows the program to continue running, and every little bit helps - you can donate here!

There is currently a waitlist, but if you are interested in joining our school lunch program, please contact Ms. Dalzell at [email protected]

Celebrating SQE!

Our Cross Country Team has been hard at work this fall - rain or shine they have been practicing and competing against other schools in the sea to sky corridor. They have represented Squamish Elementary with respect and positive sportsmanship - we are very proud of the hard work they have put in!
